# Commercial Solar Install at Currimundi
Halcol Energy recently completed a commercial solar installation at **Kyma, Currimundi**, a contemporary coastal development on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The project required a solar solution that complemented the development while giving individual owners greater control over their own electricity generation.
Rather than installing one shared solar system across the property, Halcol Energy designed and installed **five separate solar systems**, allowing each owner to generate and use their own solar energy independently.
## The Solar Solution
The completed installation includes:
- **70 x Canadian Solar 475W solar panels**
- **33.25kW total solar panel capacity**
- **5 x Sungrow 5kW inverters**
- **Five independently operating solar systems**
- **Black Schletter mounting rail**
- Installation on a **concrete roof**
By dividing the installation into five individual systems, each owner has their own dedicated solar generation rather than relying on a shared arrangement.
## Designed for Individual Energy Independence
Multi-residential and strata-style developments can present unique challenges when it comes to solar.
At Kyma, the solution was to provide each owner with their own system, giving them the opportunity to generate renewable electricity for their individual property and reduce their reliance on electricity purchased from the grid.
This approach provides a number of advantages, including independent solar generation, simpler individual energy management and the ability for each owner to benefit directly from their allocated solar system.
## Solar Designed to Complement the Building
Aesthetics were also an important consideration for a premium coastal development such as Kyma.
The panels were installed on the building’s concrete roof using **black Schletter rail**, helping create a clean and considered finish while providing a robust mounting solution for the solar array.
Careful system design allowed Halcol Energy to make effective use of the available rooftop space while delivering five distinct systems within the one development.
