### Powering Hope: Halcol Energy Proudly Supports The SunnyKids House

At Halcol Energy, we’ve always believed that solar energy isn’t just about saving money – it’s about making a real difference. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce our latest community initiative: becoming a *Platinum Sponsor* for ***The SunnyKids House***, a transformative new project that provides safe, stable accommodation for vulnerable families across Queensland.

As part of our sponsorship, Halcol Energy has donated a complete solar and battery system – valued at $20,000—to the SunnyKids House. This system will power a welcoming and sustainable environment for families in crisis, significantly reducing energy costs and allowing more funding to be channelled into the essential services SunnyKids provides.

### A Partnership Built on Purpose

Our relationship with SunnyKids isn’t new—it’s been growing quietly behind the scenes for years. Over time, we’ve witnessed the genuine impact this incredible organisation makes, helping thousands of children and families across our region find safety, security, and opportunity. When the opportunity arose to support The SunnyKids House, it wasn’t even a question.

“For us, this wasn’t just about providing technology,” says Halcol Director Gary Higgins. “It was about contributing to a cause we truly believe in. SunnyKids plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of our community, and we’re proud to be part of that mission.”

Gary and Rosie Higgins, owners of Halcol Energy, have long been passionate about giving back. From the early days of their Sunshine Coast journey to now running one of Queensland’s most trusted solar companies, their commitment to local impact has remained a guiding principle.

### More Than Business—It’s Community

This project goes far beyond business metrics or installations.

“As a business, the community togetherness that SunnyKids fosters is something special,” says Gary. “There’s real value in being involved—not just in terms of exposure, but in how it feels to give back. It’s good for business, but it’s even better for the heart.”

The solar and battery system we’ve installed won’t just power lights and appliances—it will power futures. It will allow families to focus on rebuilding their lives in a safe space, free from the stress of mounting energy bills.

### A Call to Action for Local Businesses

We’re not sharing this story to pat ourselves on the back. We’re sharing it to inspire others. Because the truth is, every local business has something to offer—whether it’s time, skills, or financial support.

“Get involved,” Gary encourages. “You don’t need to donate a solar system to make a difference. Every bit helps, and the impact lasts long after the build is done.”

At Halcol Energy, we’re proud to be part of a growing network of businesses that are choosing to do more. The SunnyKids House is just one example of what’s possible when community spirit meets meaningful action.
