We were also so surprised and delighted that you honoured the price on the revised quote especially after so many weeks of waiting to find out what was happening with Brad’s redundancy.  It is absolutely not something that we expected and we can’t express in words how grateful we are – thank you seems so inadequate.  As fortune would have it, it worked out well for us having to postpone our installation because we now have the larger 370W panels.

Thought to just let you know that the solar system the installation of which was completed on 12/6/19 when the meter was installed, seems to be working just fine. Our first AGL electricity bill arrived this morning via email and the result was $154.00 credit, nothing to pay. I am delighted by this and while I do not necessarily expect the credit to always be that much, it demonstrates the value of having solar. Hence, I have to say thank you once again.

We decided to install solar ofter our last huge power bill arrived, We did not know who to deal with and where to start but were lucky enough to come across Halcol Energy by searching the 3 quotes site for our area. Being a family of four with two teenagers, a large in ground pool and a fully air-conditioned house our household electricity consumption has always been on the high side. After a lot of investigation and price comparisons we decide to use Halcol Sunshine Coast and are extremely happy we did. Their service and efficiency has been excellent.

From the first day we had our solar panels and inverters installed it was easy to see the benefit it would be to our family. However, as we are a working family whose major energy consumption is at night we saw most of our valuable resources going straight out to the grid of a day and us having to draw energy from the grid of a night. With the difference in price between what we receive for our energy compared to what we consume, we felt this situation could be better managed by installing a Tesla Powerwall 2.

Since the installation of our Tesla Powerwall 2 we have become an almost fully self-sufficient family with 99% of our power being green energy. The Tesla Powerwall 2 is able to store the energy which is created by the sun during the day and is accessible for our use during the night, meaning we no longer are going to have those high power bills. The Tesla Powerwall 2 will also help us to lower our compulsory connection fees as any excess power created after the battery has been replenished every day will feed out to the grid and we will reap the benefits. The Tesla Powerwall 2 has also alleviated any concerns that we have about living in a blackout prone area of the Sunshine Coast where we can be without power for hours and sometimes days.

Thanks to our solar panels and the Tesla Powerwall 2 we are now one of the few families in our neighbourhood whose lights are always on and life is operating normally without the worrying about losing our power.

Halcol did a pretty great job! only a small issue at the begging but the service was so good the issue was dealt with. the installation was fantastic and im very happy with my system. It only took TWO WEEKS for the whole process so I have to give 5 for time and the price to value was amazing. I am very happy with 3.5kW system so thank you Halcol!

Halcol’s response to our request for a quote was excellent. By the next morning we received an Email with all their details, the various sized systems they sold, price lists, and links to various web sites which gave us lots of info regarding solar systems. They followed up with phone calls and visits to our home to discuss our requirements. They sell a Latronics inverter which is made on the Sunshine Coast, which is a plus for us if we ever need a service call. From what I’ve heard and read on the Net, Latronics inverters are highly regarded around the world. The system was actually installed by a firm called Accord Electrical, and they were very good and did everything we asked of them. The system is working well, considering the weather has been very cloudy and raining most of the time since it was installed. I would have no hesitation in recommending both the above companies.

This suppier was not the cheapest but they use good quality solar panels and a true blue Aussie made invertor.
The salesperson took time to explain simply yet expertly to my wife how the whole solar system works and the benefits to be gained by having the system installed

The service was fast (2weeks) after signing up. Very friendly installer; helpful and nice.

We were very impressed with the whole process. From salesperson through to going to the office to paying, and in 2 weeks after installation we had a new meter put in by energex.

Halcol Energy provided us with the best value for money system that incorporated all of the top quality components. The system 4.65kw is cranking at just under 5000 watts in ideal weather.

Good communications with Halcol, they kept me informed of progress pre installation. They use Accord Electrical as their installers and the installation was quick and thorough.

When Halcol visited me they were extremely patient in answering all my questions, making sure I fully understood how the system worked, where the components were from. They went over my electricity account and explained in detail how it will benefit me.

I am very happy with the system, its performing better than I expected. All the guys both salesman and installers were courteous, friendly, and professional in their approach.

We ended up getting at least 9 quotes for pretty much the same size system (7.5Kw) with 7 companys pricing our specs of using positive output tolerance panels i.e. good quality such as Suntech/Trina/LDK with SMA Inverters. All aspects of Halcol’s service has been first class since initial contact. It has been helpful, speedy, caring, efficient and substantially cheaper than any other quote received.

The supplier and the installers did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it!

The installers were quite good, taking good care (and cleaning up), mounting the rooftop panels where I wanted them, as well as mounting the inverter where I wanted it!

They also temporarily hooked up the system immediately, with Energex arriving some 10 days later to fit the new dual metering and final system hookup.

I obtained quotations from 4 suppliers; including Halcol Energy, Auzion, Ingenero and Infinity.
I was particularly impressed with the commitment of all nominated suppliers.
Halcol Energy were prepared to consider options and alternative equipment brands, and in the end provided the best value for money.
I installed a Sunny Boy 4kW inverter (which provides the future opportunity for at least an additional 6 panels on a separate conector) and 20 X 185 watt Suntech panels now which is generating an average above 17 kWhs per day on our Sunshine Coast property (at 24 February 2011).
In addition, installation was fantastic, excellent coordination with the installer and all completed within 3 weeks from date of contract.
The follow up customer service has also been fantastic.

Very much appreciated your series of energy use information papers which I found practical, easy to read, enlightening and most helpful in deciding on the final brief for my solar inverter system.

After doing lots of research on the equipment to be used by different companies, back up warranty, the company its self and after sales service I choose Hacol Energy on the Sunshine Coast.

I found Andrew collier knew what he was on about and answered all my questions. The installation was within the four weeks as promised.

Two of us experienced some installation problems ( did not listen to Halcols installation requests ) as the contractors used were not Halcol’s regular crew due to the july 1st rebate reduction Halcol was over run with sales.

Andrew has assured me this will be fixed after the installation rush and I find him to a man of his word.

The Halcol team were very friendly and professional who made us feel very comfortable making a decision about choosing the right Solar Power system for us. Our installation wasn’t as straight forward at first thought as we needed to split the panels and needed a larger different type of inverter that would read 2 sets of panels. However the owner agreed that the error was theirs and delivered the new inverter himself at no extra cost.

12 x 190 Watt Chinese panels for a 2.3KW system with a Growatt inverter. Some on web warned against these products while others on web said they were OK. When some other similar size systems were twice the price we decided on this one. Very good service and installation and the system has performed very good every day from day one.

I sought one extra quote myself and was quoted $5000 more on exactly the same system (same brand & size panels & inverter) as one of my three quotes through you. I therefore felt comfortable purchasing from the cheaper supplier – definitely pays to shop around. Thank you for your assistance in sourcing prospective suppliers.

The others could only be bothered with an email to tell me how busy they are at this time of year, no effort. Its a shame you can only rate each category up to a five. I would go higher for these guys especially for installation and customer service. From the very first contact with the girls in the office until the tradies came and actually put the panels on the roof, I can say absolutely fantastic!!! No dramas. Fast. Efficient. Great people. Great service. No heavy sales pitch, didn’t want or get their life stories, just enough info to make an informed decision, and in hindsight the right one. Even Energex turned up earlier than expected to connect us to the grid!!!!

Halcol was the first company to contact us, and came and saw us at our house, Martin the salesman was not hard sell, he knew he had a great product, and he let that do the selling, no pressure what so ever, he told us the facts which all proved to be correct on our research. We then found a friend you had a Halcol system installed and so we were able to look at the system which was identical to the one we where getting. So from getting our quote to installation today was four weeks. From Ergon approval to installation was one week. The guys who did the install where just as great, knew their stuff, and were very efficient. What a great team, would recommend them to anyone.

I know that it is beyond your scope but I feel more it has to be done to be able to generate more power. At this time of the year (June/July) with the sun away to the North and the angle east and west very high there are only a few hours in the middle of the day to generate power. Without being too complicated maybe a simple change of angle and a couple more panels may do the trick.

Halcol were very efficient and polite with their service and all paper work and installation was done on time and without fuss. Installers were proficient and co-operative. The only minor point was that a more detailed run down as to the total workings of the inverter could have been better explained. Overall we are more than happy with the total exercise.

With so many systems to choose from it was nice to meet someone who gave a honest proposal including all aspects of the products and job related tasks without the typical SALES PITCH!
I have to congratulate Martin from Halcol on his honesty as I am a Communications Technician installer and know first hand the many unforeseen issues that can arise during even the best planned installations.

Our system was installed ahead of schedule, we are currently on tour in our caravan around Australia, and everything was done via the phone. The initial contact was done in person and deal sealed, since then all correspondance has been done over the phone. I am impressed by Halcol Energy’s professionalism, great work.

I had arranged while I had the house half gutted that Halcol would run the cables through the ceilings before I sheeted. This was done very efficiently by working in with my renovation programme. At this stage I would not like you to use my name etc. I think it is appropriate to wait until the installation is complete and the system is operating.

I liked the sales rep from Halcol (Austin) as he immediately recommended a 1.5kWh system (enough to generate the power we use during the day and exporting as little as possible) rather than recommending a much larger system which would result in excess power being sent back to the grid at whatever FIT we could get. Other sales people have focused more on maximising FIT (which I guess is why you see a lot of large systems around on smallish properties); with the QLD government cancelling the 8c FIT from 1/7/14 this makes it even less attractive to go after the export kWh. Austin was very knowledgeable about the industry and the products on offer and I felt confident in the recommendation he made. The installation team were Halcol employees, rather than contractors, and were in and out in a couple of hours. Very happy with the experience and thanks to Solarquotes for putting us in touch.

Have only had our 5kw/18 panel system up for less than a week so can’t comment other than to say it’s certainly working well and pumping out the energy. Still waiting for Energex to do their bit so we can start getting the credits but to be honest our main concern is using the power ourselves. Pros: We took a long time to decide on which panels and installer we wanted. Chris, the salesman, was great as he always answered the questions I had promptly and visited us twice to discuss everything. The installers, Luke, Paul and Alex, were all friendly and professional. The installers and salesman get 5 stars.

Cons: The inverter (Mass Energy) was installed a few days later than the panels as they were on order. No big deal however the invoice was given to me by an installer when they installed the panels and then the same invoice sent to me the same day by email and then yet again sent by email the day after the inverter was installed (which was actually sent after I had paid). There’s no need to send an invoice 3 times, especially when 2 of them are sent before the work is even complete!

I’m now able to monitor the output from my computer too so that’s great as we work out how much power is generated and when. The manuals are written in Chinglish but it’s fairly easy to work out and the actual inverter is more compact than other manufacturers.

Tony, the salesman, fielded all my questions and coped with my indecision. Decided to go with a single phase inverter despite having 3-phase power. We have just had installed our second Halcol Solar System to our second house we have just purchased and are very happy with it. The crew that installed it were very professional and friendly. The staff at Halcol were very help full and Tony (our Rep) was very easy to work with. He was very patient with me. The system that we fitted has wifi capability. It can be monitored with your mobile phone, tablet or computer. Halcol can also monitor your progress. I would highly recommend Halcol if you are in the market for a solar system. We checked out the opposition with all there cheaper deals but found the quality of the Halcol product and service rose above all the others.

We are grateful to respected Sunshine Coast builder L&J Friend Constructions Pty Ltd for their referral to Halcol Energy Pty Ltd for their supply and installation of our 6.44kw Canadian Solar System (23 x 280w panels), Mass Energy Inverter with Tesla Powerwall Battery System. We’ve been impressed with Halcol’s dedicated professionalism and competence, not to mention the state of the art technology comprising the product. That we can comprehensively monitor the detailed operation on our mobile devices was an attractive surprise. If considering solar we have no difficulty recommending the obviously competent Halcol outfit. If our positive experience is any guide others contemplating solar would do well to listen to what Halcol’s experienced engineers may have to say. We now enjoy virtual immunity from power outages, negligible (if any) further electricity bills and by default, securing an effective in-house UPS.

Extremely professional company to deal with from the Sales rep to the installers to the lovely Lisa in the office. We checked their reviews, then did a comparison with 2 other quotes and chose Halcol as it was the best fit and the best quote for us. Install booked for 7.30 they arrived at 7.29 and were done by 1pm. Quick and efficient without any broken tiles which all 3 companies had advised can happen.
They then explained the inverter in full detail and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.

After instalation there was a small issue. The installers returned within a day and quickly sorted things. Very efficient and pleasant. Did a very neat job.

My solar power has been even better than promised. I have not had a power bill since installation. I use the aircon daily in summer and heating nightly in winter.
I took me a few years to decide to get solar. I wanted to see who were the ‘stayers’ after the first rush! I’d recommend people do it NOW. Crazy not to. An under $5k outlay for no more power bills is well worth it.

Halcol have been most accommodating as the solar was being put into a currently rented house that was also have the roof repainted. They fitted in with the painters and tenants. Really appreciated. The price was very competitive and the staff always pleasant.

I wanted to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) to express our appreciation of two of your installers Brent and Alex.

We have purchased one of your Solar systems and unfortunately missed out on being walked through the usage of it as we were at the time based in Sydney as this house was being built and completed.

Nevertheless, I reached out to Halcol (Lisa Rudd) asking if there was any way someone could come up the Hinterland to take us through how to read the solar system. My request was answered within 15 minutes by a call from Chris Reeve who arranged a visit two days later.

We have been living in our new home for 6 weeks and have had never ending problems with our wifi speeds despite even having a booster installed in the middle of the house to ensure coverage across the whole home. As remote workers for IBM Australia, ongoing coverage is mandatory to our ability to work and we have had no end of problems requiring us to reboot our router at least 4 times a day and spending 3.5 hours in total on the phone with Telstra who confirmed every time that all was OK their end. Subsequently, I have had the original electrical installers come back four times trying to resolve the issues. Problem is fixed when they leave but within an hour, it fails again. We had started believing that this was the curse of country living and we just had to “suck it up”.

When I called your team, I was actually wanting them to come and set us up with the wifi and whilst they were there, see if that was causing the “drag” on our data availability.

Your guys arrived just as we realised we had no hot water and the hot water circuit was “tripping” on the circuit board. Alex and Brent immediately went to check it out and investigated for me. They discovered it was either a wiring issue or a blown element on the hot water heater. Alex expressed that he would be very happy to do the wiring but did state that it’s “safer” for the original sparkie to come back in the event they had specific reasons for wiring it the way they did which I completely accepted and understood.

I explained that we have never had a hand over of any of the booster’s or the massive data port installed so both gents went through everything to understand how it was all set up, what went where and managed to educate us on what it all did, how it was all working and what we needed to know.

We were completely blown away by the way they ascertained all this within 20 minutes and got everything working as it should be. Best bit? They were here 2 days ago and everything is STILL working!!!! ?

I have the guys coming back to install 5 more power points and I look forward to dealing with Halcol in the future.

Update after 16 months with the Halcol Solar System:

As a mechanic I always look to save a buck & this system I purchased from Halcol on the Sunshine Coast has been a great buy.

I watched my power bill reduce by the $100 per 1/4. Then I ran the dish washer, pool & washing machine after sun down & reduced it again by $50. Installing 9 watt down lights through out the house & standby shut offs reduced our bill by a further $30 per 1/4. Future wave for the pool $60 per 1/4.
