Intelligent Solar Power Generation
The Sunny Boy has it all, with established product features such as OptiTrac Global Peak and SMA Smart Connected that are now supplemented with integrated TS4-R communication for module optimization. Thanks to this, even shade on the module is no problem. The OptiTrac Global Peak integrated shade management system ensures maximum yields in light shade. For large amounts of shade or complex roof structures, TS4-R module optimizers can be installed easily and selectively for maximum yields.
The free SMA Smart Connected service analyzes inverter operation, immediately informs the installer of irregularities and offers recommended solutions to ensure maximum system availability. Operators and installers can keep an eye on the system at all times via the SMA monitoring portals. Thanks to the TS4-R module optimizer, it is even possible to monitor every single module upon request.

Battery Ready Anytime
With SMA’s intelligent AC-coupled technology, your Sunny Boy PV system is battery-ready at any time. Sunny Boy Storage can be added to your PV system and allow you to start storing your excess solar generation. And thanks to the SMA Automatic Backup Unit, your battery system can power your home in the event of a blackout.

Performance in the Shade
Partial shade on a PV array is sometimes unavoidable. If not correctly managed, it can affect the performance of your entire system. But with the patented OptiTrac® Global Peak function in your Sunny Boy, the effect of partial shade is minimised allowing your PV system to operate as though there was no shade.
For maximum energy generation in partial shading application, you can add the TS4-R Optimizer. This allows the maximum solar generation from each panel and also gives you full visibility of individual PV module performance via Sunny Portal.

Investment Security IncludedWith SMA Smart Connected, SMA offers free and automatic inverter monitoring that helps installers to provide customers with a quick, targeted service. If an inverter fails, SMA proactively informs the PV system owner and the installer. In this way, PV system owners and installers benefit from minimized diagnosis and downtime. If it is necessary to replace the inverter, SMA sends a replacement device fast and free of charge.

SMA Smart Connected – How it Works
• Activation of SMA Smart Connected
During registration of the system in Sunny Portal, you, as the installer, activate SMA Smart Connected and thus start automatic inverter monitoring by SMA.
• Automatic inverter monitoring
SMA automatically checks the inverter for anomalies around-the-clock during operation. You and your customers benefit from SMA’s many years of experience.
• Proactive communication
After a fault has been diagnosed and analyzed, SMA informs the installer and PV system operator immediately by email. Everyone is thus optimally prepared for the troubleshooting process ensuring minimum downtimes and reducing outlay and costs. The regular power reports also provide the installer with valuable information about the overall system.
• Replacement Service
If a replacement device is necessary, SMA automatically supplies a new inverter within one to three days of the fault diagnosis. As the installer, you can contact the PV system operator of your own accord and replace the inverter immediately.
• Performance Service
SMA compensates PV system owners if the replacement inverter cannot be delivered within three days.
