We recently completed a complex 100kW commercial solar installation at the new multi-level car park in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.
The project was especially challenging due to the wind loadings, the frame and the number of panels that had to be installed.
We used 224 solar panels – the latest 440w Canadian Solar Panels, along with 2 x 50kW Core1 SMA Commercial Inverters. The panels had to be installed onto a minimum of three ground mount rails to deal with the excessive wind loading due to the height of the building and the proximity to the ocean. The DC cabling had to be built into the frame work of the rail and the panels and then bought to a central point and the cables had to be run under the concrete to a secure room for the inverter.
All in all, a great job completed by the Halcol team and years of energy savings ahead for car park.
This installation is a great example of how we tailor fit our products to best suit the needs of the business or property. With a versatile custom-made steel sunshade racking system, we were able to seamlessly integrate the solar panels into the design of the building.
